Beckett is 4 months old. i feel like i say it every month, but i can't believe how quick time is flying by. he is really starting to come into his own. i love how he just seems to want to say so much but just can't get the words out!
August 10 was my first day back at work and i really didn't want to go. as i walked out the door crying, dan was laughing at me. i just don't think men understand what women feel, especially when it comes to this. Thankfully, daniel is picking up an extra shift so i will only have to work 3 days. it isn't near as bad as four. he is amazing and i do love him. We are starting to adjust and beckett is doing awesome with his schedule. Nothing is exactly the same every day but it's pretty dang close. His schedule right now (napping anywhere from 1-1.5 hours and eating mostly 2-2.5 hours). We do watch the clock but mainly we watch him to see what he needs. Although, it is as if he has an internal clock. He is usually really consistent.
earlier this month i was trying to put him to bed around 7 because everything i read said "early bedtimes," so i tried it. it doesn't work for us. he was waking forty five minutes after putting him down and again and at least once a night to feed and sometimes more. he doesn't have to get up early, so, he does best as far as sleeping through the night, when he goes to bed at 9. he almost always wakes at 6 and is in bed at 9. everything else you can give or take 30 minutes-1 hour.
Wednesdays and Thursdays:
6:00a- wakes, nurses with mommy in bed and then back to sleep
8:30a- wakes, nurses with mommy and sometimes back to sleep, but usually up, mommy to work
9:30/10-naps
10/10:30a-wakes, daddy feeds him about 5oz of pumped milk, and play-time
11/11:30a- back to sleep
12:30/1p- wakes and mommy comes home to nurse, eat lunch and lovey time
1:30/2p- back to sleep
2:30/3p-wakes, daddy feeds him 5 oz of pumped milk with Vit-D added to it, and play-time
3:30/4p-back to sleep
4:30/5p-wakes, plays/nurses with mommy when i get home from work around 5
6p-play time,
6:30-7p-naps, dinner for daddy and mommy
8:00-bath time
8:30-lovey time, we listen to music, read, and rock, nurse
9:00-fast asleep
Tuesdays i work from 12-7p. beckett stays on the same sleep/wake/eat schedule so daddy just feeds him pumped milk during that time period. i pump 2-3 times at work and at this point, still have an abundant supply of milk. thank goodness.
At nap time, we started to un-swaddle him but it's a love/hate relationship for him. he grunts and squirms until he falls asleep, but while he is sleeping he sleeps like a rock. if he isn't swaddled he just plays with his hands a rolls back and forth and will not sleep. so we are still swaddling.
We went to the free concert at the base of Howelson (ski training mountain) and he seemed to have fun. He actually fell asleep in my arms and then woke up about thirty minutes later so happy.
One thing that has changed for him this past month is the fact that he doesn't have as many bowel movements. sometimes he will go 5 days or so and sometimes he will have 2-3 in one day. even when he hasn't had a movement, he is still so happy.
What we are reading: dr. seuss books, spot books, 4 different goodnight books, farm books, how to books....all kinds!
What we are singing: cd lullabys
