11 months.

little beckett is 11 months. i can not believe that my next entry will be his year entry. i don't even know where the time has gone. i'm officially one of those parents that says, "gosh, i don't know where the time has gone." i'm scared it will be a blink and then he will be going to college but in the meantime, i will cherish every moment we have together, everyday.
we have had to take him to the dr once a month to check his weight. every time we go in they say "he is gaining, just not enough!" i get worried and think "am i doing something wrong?" but then i look at him and you would never think he wasn't "weighing enough." he eats pretty good, sometimes really good, plays like crazy, he has never been sick, never had an ear infection, sleeps like a bear and is always soooo happy. he is just the best baby, he is perfect! he doesn't act starving and he will try pretty much anything we offer. he doesn't seem to picky. he has pretty much made being a mother so easy. he doesn't seem to be nursing as much as last month but is definitely eating more solids. at his last weight check, his dr suggested that we try and introduce some formula, one bottle a day, just so we could know how much fat and calories he was getting. she thinks it could be possible my milk is really lean and possibly not enough fat. so that day i went and bought some formula, disgusted with the smell of it i was reluctant to give it to him, he had never even had one drop, but if it meant he could gain some weight i was willing to try. he drank 4oz and i thought this is good. ha. that was the only one he actually took. as if he knew what we were trying to do and was like "uh-uh!" now he won't take a bottle at all, whether it is breast milk or formula. he has seemed more open to using a sippy cup, but it hasn't been what he wants. no problem nursing though. it's like he is saying "i'm not ready to quit this yet." fine by me for now, i can't believe i actually made it this long. i look back at when i was pregnant and remember thinking "if i can just make it 90 days" and here we are, almost a year! we will actually make it. i can't believe it! it has just been so wonderful for us. i didn't know if i would like it and now i can't imagine it any other way. i could be wrong but i truly accredit that to his health.

he is sort of a grazer. eating snacks here and there. it is safe to say he gets three solid nurses a day and then solids three times a day, with some snacks. he doesn't really like the bottle. he will drink water out of a sippy but that is it.
